Florida Gators Target Top Recruits to Boost 2027 Class

Florida Gators are making waves in the 2027 recruiting class with 20 commitments, including five-star offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller, a 6-foot-5-inch, 300-pound Coatesville, Pennsylvania native. New head coach Jon Sumrall and his staff prioritize quality over quantity, seeking talent to elevate the group. Four of their five highest-rated future signings are linemen, emphasizing the trenches. Sumrall's staff is engaged with top prospects, including five-star defensive lineman Jalen Brewster, the nation's top overall prospect. The Gators also target four-star Antonio Berry to replace recent Georgia flip four-star OL Kennedee Jackson. At quarterback, four-star QB Davin Davidson is committed, while the Gators aim to add depth at running back with targets like four-star RB Trey Martin and four-star RB Keldrid Ben. Wide receiver is another position of focus, with commits like four-star WR Elias Pearl and targets such as five-star WR Easton Royal. The Gators have a strong foundation with commits like four-star DL Cahron Wheeler and three-star DL Stive-Bentley Keumajou Yondui, but still target top defensive linemen like Jalen Brewster. With momentum on their side, the Gators are recruiting from a position of strength, a stance the program has not been familiar with in recent years. And with Sumrall's cultural reset, UF is marketing itself as an established winner. The Gators' recruiting class currently ranks as high as No. 3 on ESPN's national recruiting list. So, the focus is on adding the right pieces to build a championship-caliber foundation. The Gators' staff is working to stack multiple elite classes, and with 20 commitments already, they are off to a strong start. But the work is far from over, as the Gators continue to pursue top talent to fill out their 2027 class.
