Florida Gators are firmly in contention for blue-chip quarterback Kingston Preyear, who narrowed his recruitment to Florida, Alabama, and Vanderbilt.
The 6-foot-3-inch, 195-pound Alexander City, Alabama, native is a top-five prospect in the state of Alabama and one of the best quarterbacks in the 2028 class.
He threw for 3,026 yards and 34 touchdowns, completing over 60% of his passes, during his sophomore season.
Preyear's performance helped guide Benjamin Russell to a 6A-region championship and a spot in the AHSAA Class 6A state semifinals.
Florida quarterback coach Ryan O'Hara views Preyear as a player with the same upside and fit in Florida's future plans.
The Gators have already secured a blue-chip commitment from four-star QB Davin Davidson out of Cardinal Mooney High School in Sarasota, Florida.
Preyear is ranked No. 44 overall and No. 4 at his position according to the 247Sports composite.
The No. 3 player in the state of Alabama has 23 total offers, among them other SEC programs, including Alabama, Georgia, and LSU.
The Gators' next game is vs Florida Atlantic Owls on 2026-09-05.
And with Preyear still considering his options, the Gators will look to make a strong push for his commitment.
But for now, the focus is on the upcoming season, with the Gators looking to build on their recent recruiting successes.
So the Gators will be keeping a close eye on Preyear's recruitment, hoping to add another talented player to their roster.
